Creatures include, but are not limited to:

Over 100 species of fish and sea anemones hand-painted with thirty layers of translucent color. (paintings will change color as you move around a room) Several clients have provided their personal underwater slides for me to follow. Actual sea life is dried, preserved, and sealed by the artist to retain natural coloration. Fragile creatures, such as crabs, starfish, sea fans, etc., are also used. They are mounted on fossils, minerals, or marble and applied to the mural by magnets, allowing for easy removal for shipping and cleaning. Jewels and shipwreck antiques (i.e., coins) further enhance the illusion of the underwater world. Fossils and minerals, ranging from 350 million year-old pieces to meteorites from space, are used to give the impression of the coral reef. Each is selected for it's visual quality, not location of find.

Construction of Mural:

Marble is adhered to 1'x 3'or 1'x 4' planks. Planks are interlocked with a mortise and tenon joint. A 3" border is left around marble area to bolt planks to desired wall. Wooden crates are made for each plank for easy shipping and storage for hurricanes. The frame sits on mural and is screwed in on the sides to hold it in place.
